- Prepare 1 tsp - jaggery (as required)
- Use 2 tsp - salt(as required)
- Get 1 tsp - coriander seed powder
- Provide 1/2 tsp - cumin seed powder
- Use 1/4 tsp - methi seeds
Instructions to make Palak dal bhaji:
- Rinse palak leaves well. Chopped finely. Rinse all dal together well. Put all dal, palak, peanuts in a pressure cooker.
- Add 2 cups of water, methi seeds, slices of kachcha aam, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and grated ginger.
- Heat on medium flame for 2 whistle. Then reduced the flame to low and cook for 5 minutes. Switch off the gas.
- When the steamed is completely released remove the lid. Mix the mixture well. Add jaggery and salt. and some water to get desired consistency (if needed).
- Heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp asafoetida, turmeric powder and sauté.
- Add green chillies, red chillies, curry leaves and sauté. Add red chilli powder, goda masala mix well.
- Immediately add cooked dal mixture in a pan. Stir well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on low flame. If you want you can add some water for desired consistency.
- Switch off the gas. Serve dal bhaji with chapati and rice.
- Instead of kachcha aam you can used 1 1/2 tsp tamarind pulp or 1 tomato.
