The ingredients needed to make Chess-board Cookies:
  1. You need 1/2 cup aata/maida
  2. Provide 1/4 cup ghee/butter
  3. Take 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  4. You need 1&1/2 tsp cocoa powder

  6. Get 1/4 tsp baking powder
  7. Provide 1 pinch salt
Steps to make Chess-board Cookies:
  1. In a bowl add aata/maida, baking powder & salt, mix it and keep it aside.
  2. In another bowl ghee/butter and powdered sugar and whisk it till the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
  3. Now mix it with dry ingredients and form a dough.
  4. Now divide the dough into two equal parts. Now add cocoa powder and coffee powder in one dough, Knead it & mix them well as shown in image 3.
  5. Now form 2 dough as in pic 1. Now wrap both the dough with an alluminium foil or Wapping roll & keep it in a refrigerator for 15 mins. Then remove them.
  6. Now cut both the dough vertically as shown in the image.
  7. Again cut each sides vertically.
  8. Now alternately place one above the other as shown in the image.
  9. Repeat the same with the second batch and stick all of them by gently pressing them.
  10. Now again wrap it and keep it in a refrigerator for 15 mins. then cut them into peices keeping half inch of thickness. Pre-heat a kadai & grease a plate with oil and put all the cookie-cuts over the plate and bake them for 25 in a low flame.
  11. Consume them after 15 mins after removing them from kadai.
