- Soak white peas in water for about 7-8 hours or overnight.
- Wash it properly and transfer it to a pressure cooker with some water. Add in potatoes and salt. Pressure cook for 2-3 whistles over a medium heat.
- Release the pressure and take out the potatoes. Peel and cut them into cubes. Keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. When they splutter add chopped onion and fry till onion turns translucent. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute for few seconds. Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears. Add chopped tomato and salt. Cook till tomato is soft. Add curry powder and cook for 2-3 minutes or until oil starts releasing from the masala.
- Now add the boiled white peas along with its stock, boiled potatoes and cook covered on a medium heat for 5 minutes. Open the lid, add garam masala powder and 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves. Turn off the flame.
- Serve hot garnished with sliced onion, chopped coriander leaves, sev, cornflakes, sweet tamarind chutney, tomato sauce, fresh curd, and sprinkled with Chaat masala powder & a pinch of black salt.
